ABOUT
About
Linc Housing’s mission is to build communities and strengthen neighborhoods for people underserved by the marketplace.
Linc Housing
Since 1984, Linc Housing has built a strong track record of creating communities for thousands of families and seniors throughout California. We’re committed to building and preserving housing that is affordable, environmentally sustainable, and a catalyst for community improvement. Linc works hard to address the homelessness crisis by building supportive housing and addressing the affordable housing needs of our state’s diverse population. Through our resident services, we’re also providing life-enhancing programs and intensive case management services (ICMS) that improve the quality of life for those who live in our communities.

THE LINC STORY
In the 1980s, visionaries in government and business realized that with the escalating price of land, certain segments of California’s population would be left behind with no hope to own or even rent a place to live: retired teachers and service sector personnel, and young working families. In 1984, concerned civic leaders formed a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization they named the Corporate Fund for Housing (CFH), and the organization began working toward securing affordable homes for these vital members of our growing economy.
Building on the experience and relationships gained in these early developments, in 1993 CFH formed a new entity, Linc Housing, with an expanded mission, staff, and service area. Since that time, the organization has developed a wide variety of affordable apartment homes through new construction, acquisition and rehabilitation of at-risk housing, historic preservation, and adaptive re-use. Linc creates and preserves housing with careful attention paid to quality, design, environmental sustainability, and life-enhancing resident services. We’ve created more supportive housing to support vulnerable populations and committed to having our properties be community assets – serving residents and surrounding neighborhoods by providing community amenities for better health and economic mobility.
Each Linc community is unique to its neighborhood and the residents who call it home.
With more than 9,000 affordable apartments, including more than 700 supportive housing units developed, we’re proud to be the “linc” between hope and home for those in need of affordable housing.
OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION
Linc is committed to promoting the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). As an affordable housing and community developer, we are particularly poised to address these issues in our choices of where and how we build, which programs we deliver, and who we work with. We are working to alleviate long-standing barriers for populations traditionally at a disadvantage in accessing opportunities for prosperity and well-being.
Our Vision
We envision communities in which residents live full, healthy, prosperous lives, unbound by the current predictors and restrictions of race, gender, mobility, and class. We focus on economic progress, financial empowerment, and civic engagement, so that the residents who have found a home at Linc can prosper holistically. In supporting those most affected by disparities, we can build a more equitable and effective system for everyone. We aspire to be an organization that instills pride by association, to lead by example, and to stand behind our decisions and actions.
Our Commitments
We commit to examining and understanding the root causes of economic injustice and the challenges we face and to meet them with the force and deliberation they deserve for long-term transformation. From our beginning, we have sought to improve the lives of people who were locked out of the systems of stability and prosperity, and that continues to be the core of who we are. But we know that systemic change emerges only when we as individuals have the humility and courage to challenge what is in our hearts and minds. Thus, we commit to learning, listening, and opening ourselves to new possibilities.
